Foo Fighters White Limo Tour hits the road on a cross-country mission
March 17, 2011
Over the next month or so, you might see a big-ass white limo pull up outside Recorded Memories. Of course you’ll probably hear the limo first because it will be blasting the new Foo Fighters record, “Wasting Light”. Dave Grohl and the boys are sending the white limo from their instant classic “White Limo” video (featuring Lemmy) on a cross-country tour of record stores and other cultural influencers, to introduce the new record to their fans.
“Wasting Light” comes out the week of Record Store Day (4/12) and they are also releasing a very special vinyl album of their favorite cover tunes, called “Medium Rare” that will be available at Recorded Memories.
Check out the Foo Fighters White Limo video, A kick-ass shot-on-VHS video of “White Limo” starring Motorhead's own Lemmy Kilmister as the driver and Grohl (and wife Jordyn), Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear as players in scenarios no doubt familiar to any aficionado of “classic” ’80s hard rock videos.

Social Distortion "Machine Gun Blues" new single available 1/4
December 29, 2010
I feel like Steve Martin when he was yelling “The new phone books are here, the new phone books are here!”, however, my excitement concerns Mike Ness and Social Distortion! Their new CD single for Machine Gun Blues will be available January 4th, 2011! These limited edition singles are only available from select indie stores, like Recorded Memories!
We have a single/coupon promotion from Social Distortion and just like the Cee-lo and Decemberists promotions these CD singles are very limited and are available for $2. 2nd Harvest Food Drive
November 11, 2010
Taco Time is currently doing a canned food drive through Friday, November 12. If you bring in food for the food bank, they’ll treat you to a free small order of Mexi-Fries. We’re not sure if all of them are involved, but we do know the stores at 1310 North Ruby Street and 6703 East Sprague are participating. Check the Taco Time location nearest you to see if they are accepting donations.
Additionally, Recorded Memories will have a collection bin provided by 2nd Harvest. While we won’t have Mexi-Fries on hand, we can probably come up with Mardi Gras beads for anyone who is willing to donate!
Founded in 1971, 2nd Harvest leads a network of 275 neighborhood food banks and meal centers throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Every month they provides 1.5 million pounds of donated food to help feed hungry people.
And as a reminder, food banks do allow expired cans. We’ve confirmed that they will gladly take expired food. Don’t toss it, give someone a meal!
Thanks!

CEE-LO "F**K YOU" limited edition single available 9/21
September 16, 2010
If you listen to Elvis Duran in the morning, then you can’t escape this song – or at least the censored portions they can play. With literally millions of YouTube hits, this song has been talked about on many other programs as well and it’s inescapable due to it’s use of a certain 4-letter word starting with “F” (and it’s not Frog).
5,000 CD singles are being issued for this and Spokane’s one and only Recorded Memories will have a very limited supply. The single also includes “Georgia” an ode to his home state.
The single will be in a jewel case and will have a coupon in the artwork good for $2 off the purchase of the CD release of CEE-LO’s “The Lady Killer” on Dec 7th. The coupon will only be valid at Spokane’s Home for ALL Musical Tastes… Recorded Memories!
